WSOP 2024 Main Event
The WSOP Main Event is the $10,000 buy-in crown jewel of the series. In 2023, it set a very high bar, setting attendance, prize pool, and first-place prize records. For 2024 the WSOP will try and beat this record again.
As in previous editions, there are four starting flights to merge into two separate Day 2s before all players combine for Days 3 to 7. Players play down to a final table that will determine the winner.

WSOP 2024 Event Highlights
New Events for 2024
We have looked through the schedule and there are over a dozen new events for players to get excited about this World Series of Poker. The events differ in range and scope and come with a wide range of buy-ins — from a $500 WSOP Kickoff Freezeout to a $10,000 Eight Game Mixed 6-Handed Championship.
WSOP Event #1: $5,000 Champions Reunion Freezeout
2023 Main Event winner Daniel Weinman plus former WSOP Main Event champions will kick off the 2024 series with this brand new event. The event features a $5,000 buy-in and any player to knock out a former Main event champion will an automatic entry into the 2024 Main Event. All living Main Event champions will be given a free entry to play in this event, should they choose too. Does this mean we could also see Espen Jørstad, Chris Moneymaker, Jamie Gold or Scott Blumstein all making a come back?
WSOP Event #65: Seniors High Roller No-Limit Hold’em
For the first time at the WSOP, players aged 50 years and up can participate in an exclusive new high roller event. The event features a $5,000 buy-in and 50,000 starting stack and is a three day event.
WSOP Event #41: Mixed No-Limit Hold’em; Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot (8 Handed)
Taking place over three days, the buy-in for this event will be $1,500 with a starting stack of 25,000.
WSOP Event #62: PokerNews Deep Stack Championship No-Limit Hold’em
PokerNews is sponsoring the $600 deep stack championship and will offer special promotions to low-stakes grinders. In addition players who participate in the daily $200, $250, or $400 deep stack tournaments at the WSOP will earn points and climb weekly leaderboards. The top 10 finishers each week will get complimentary seats into the $600 PokerNews Deep Stack Championship event.
WSOP Event #80: Independence Day Celebration No-Limit Hold’em
This is a new three-day event at the WSOP. Flight A begins ahead of Independence Day on Wednesday, July 3, and Flight B will begin on Thursday, July 4. Both flights contain $800 buy-ins and a starting stack of 40,000.
WSOP Event #82: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em During Main Event
There will be a $1,000 buy-in Hold’em event at 7:00 p.m the night of Flight 1D of the Main Event. The two-day event will contain a starting stack of 20,000.
WSOP Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship No-Limit Hold’em
For players who bust out of the Main Event but want to remain a part of the high-stakes action, this new four-day event begins on July 11 with a $3,000 buy-in and a starting stack of 40,000.
WSOP Standout Events
Although undoubtedly the Main Event stands as the flagship attraction of the series, the WSOP would feel incomplete without its timeless classics like the Millionaire Maker, Colossus, and Monster Stack, alongside recent sensations like Mystery Millions and Gladiators of Poker.
These events consistently draw some of the largest fields of the series, surpassing even the Main Event in terms of entries. Their popularity stems from their accessibility with lower buy-ins, weekend scheduling, multiple flights, and re-entry options. As expected, these beloved events return for the 2024 edition.
WSOP Event #5: $1,000 Mystery Millions
For aficionados of Mystery Bounties, the Mystery Millions is an unmissable tournament. Introduced in 2022, it quickly became a staple of the summer series, embracing the popular mystery bounty format. Last year marked a milestone as it emerged as the largest-ever $1,000 buy-in event, drawing over 18,000 entrants and amassing over $16 million prize pool.
This year, commencing on May 30 with four starting flights, the buy-in remains $1,000, guaranteeing both a $1 million top bounty prize and a $1 million first-place prize.
WSOP Event #54: $1,500 Millionaire Maker
The Millionaire Maker stands as one of the most eagerly awaited events of the series and for good reasons. Since its inception in 2013, this tournament has consistently delivered on its promise of creating millionaires.
Last year, the event drew 10,416 participants, resulting in a prize pool of $13.9 million. In 2024, the Millionaire Maker returns from June 21, now featuring three Day 1 flights, offering even more opportunities for players to chase their dreams of becoming a millionaire.
WSOP Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker
Back by popular demand, the Gladiators of Poker returns for another run this year. This is the cheapest bracelet event to run on the schedule costing just $300 and is also played as a multi-flight event, featuring four Day 1s.
Like its predecessor, it features multiple Day 1s and boasts a rare guarantee — the 2024 edition maintains a $3 million prize pool assurance, set to commence on June 6.
WSOP Event #70: $400 Colossus
The Colossus, a fixture renowned for its large turnouts, features a wallet-friendly $400 buy-in. Despite a slight decline in popularity, it still draws over 15,000 runners, generating a prize pool exceeding $5 million. This year, with four Day 1s, it kicks off on June 28.
WSOP Event #38: $1,500 Monster Stack
The Monster Stack is another highly anticipated event for players seeking a shot at big prize pools. The event features a $1500 buy-in and played multi-flight featuring three to four starting flights. Last year, it drew over 8000 runners. This year, it takes place from June 14.

WSOP Payout Structure Changed for 2024
The WSOP has made changes to its payout structure for the 2024 series. Most bracelet events will now offer a minimum cash prize of double the buy-in. For example, for a bracelet event with a $1,000 buy-in, the minimum cash prize for a player will be $2,000.
A new Payout Calculator can be found on the WSOP website. The calculator allows players to see payouts for all bracelet events, in addition to daily and weekly deepstack events.
The Main Event is not part of the payout changes. The Main Event will continue to offer players a minimum cash prize of 1.5x the buy-in. It maintains its payout structure for 15% of the field.
However, the WSOP have tweaked how prize money will be distributed to the final table players, due to criticisms made last year.
The first-place prize for the Main Event has been reduced from $12 million to between $10 million and $11 million, depending on the number of entrants. Every player who reaches the final table is guaranteed to walk away as a millionaire.
Assuming there is a similar Main Event turnout to last year, the final table payout structure will look something like this:
WSOP Main Event Payout Changes: 2023 vs 2024
2023 | 2024 | Difference | |
---|---|---|---|
1st | $12,100,000 | $11,000,000 | -$1,100,000 |

WSOP 2024 Tournament of Champions
The WSOP Tournament of Champions (ToC) was an invitation-only event, boasting a $1 million freeroll prize pool. This event brought together all the winners from hallmark WSOP events. The champion not only won the cash prize but also receives the coveted gold bracelet.
This year, ToC took place in Los Angeles, California. It was held , situated in the heart of Los Angeles.
The inception of the tournament dates back to 2004, witnessing several transformations over the years. Initial editions were marred by controversy, prompting a hiatus in 2007.
A brief resurgence occurred in 2010, featuring a 27-player format determined by public vote. However, the event went dormant once again following its conclusion. In 2022, ToC returned with a fresh format, extending invitations to all WSOPC ring winners and WSOP bracelet holders alike.
This tournament bears resemblance to the WSOP Global Casino Championship, formerly known as the WSOP National Championship, which also awards gold bracelets and boasts a minimum $1 million prize pool added by WSOP organizers. Held annually as the culmination of the circuit season, typically in August, the event grants hundreds of players automatic entry, free of charge.
Download Bravo Poker Live For Online Registration
Unfortunately the WSOP+ app is not available for players to use during the WSOP in Las Vegas this summer. Instead players looking to register online for events will need to download the Bravo Poker Live app — as in previous years.
After players have set up an account at the WSOP Main Cage in the Champagne Ballroom (in person at the WSOP), they can register online on Bravo Poker Live for WSOP tournaments. This will avoid the need to use the registration line to enter events during the series.

Will Game of Gold Head to the WSOP 2024?
Game of Gold is the new reality TV poker show from GGPoker and Poker After Dark. The show is available on YouTube or via our in-depth guide and features sixteen poker pros who get put into four teams at random.
Each player has to battle it out at the poker tables, playing a variety of formats and accruing points that will translate into an overall individual winner.
Whilst game play is happening, remaining team members can watch a cards-up live stream, that adds the reality tv element.
In December 2023, the cast met in the Bahamas just after the WSOP Paradise stop wrapped up. As GGPoker and the WSOP are so closely linked, could we see Game of Gold during the summer 2024 WSOP? We think so!
Although it is hard to predict how this Game of Gold, WSOP mash up may look, a reunion for Season 1 or even Season 2, in Las Vegas could be one option. Producers might also want to film live during the WSOP for a special one off episode as lots of poker pros will already be in Vegas for the World Series.
WSOP 2024 Player of the Year
Each person entering multiple WSOP events can find themselves on the points hunt for the coveted title of Player of the Year. Points are awarded for open bracelet events, including online bracelets, but not for events like Casino Employees, Seniors, Super Seniors, Ladies, and Tag Team, which are excluded from the PoY race.
The points system is based on a formula that considers the number of total entries and the player’s finishing position. Points will also be shown on the individual event results and prize pool tab on the WSOP website.
The 2024 Player of the Year Leaderboard will be updated daily so that players can see their progress. The Player of the Year winner receives a seat in the 2025 WSOP Main Event, a unique trophy, and a Player of the Year banner at Paris/Horseshoe.
WSOP Poker Hall of Fame 2024
The Horseshoe is now also home to a one-of-a-kind World Series of Poker Hall of Fame Poker Room. It features 20 permanent poker tables plus a Poker Hall of Fame exhibit that pays tribute to poker legends. Last year Brian Rast was inducted into the WSOP Poker Hall of Fame.
The 2024 inductee will be announced this summer, during the series.
